Gorlosa said that it is unfortunate that the Raja-Sonam case which unfolded in Meghalaya got all the attention of national media
Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa on Sunday has stated that the death of the Assam girl Rosmita Hojai in Uttarakhand is unfortunate and any culprit behind her death must be punished.
Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, Gorlosa said that it is unfortunate that the Raja-Sonam case which unfolded in Meghalaya got all the attention of national media, but no focus has been given to the death of Rosmita Hojai.
He further said that the Assam government as well as the police departments of both Assam and Uttarakhand are working on the case and taking the legal course.
The body of 26 years old Rosmita Hojai, who went missing on June 5 in New Delhi have been found on June 10 on the banks of river at Pauri Garhwal district in Uttarakhand.
Hojai who hails from Hojai village in Dima Hasao had travelled to Delhi to appear for the RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) examination.
The Uttarakhand government has ordered a detailed investigation into the death of Rosmita Hojai. The probe was initiated after Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, urging him to look into the matter seriously and ensure a fair investigation into the circumstances that led to Rosmita’s death.
In response, Chief Minister Dhami took to social media platform X and assured full cooperation. He stated, “We share your concern Hon’ble CM Shri @himantabiswa Ji. We are fully committed to ensuring a fair, transparent, and timely investigation. I have directed the state’s DGP to conduct a thorough and detailed investigation of the entire incident.”
