Assam CM Writes to Uttarakhand CM, Personally Requests Him for a Time-Bound Probe Into Rosmita’s Mysterious Death

According to her family, Rosmita had travelled to Delhi to appear for a recruitment exam and then visited Rishikesh with two individuals.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has written to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, demanding a thorough and time-bound investigation into the suspicious death of Rosmita Hojai, a young woman from Dima Hasao district.

Rosmita went missing in Rishikesh on June 6. Authorities later recovered her body from the Ganga River five days after her disappearance. Her family suspects foul play.

According to her family, Rosmita had travelled to Delhi to appear for a recruitment exam and then visited Rishikesh with two individuals. After that, she suddenly went missing. Her death has shocked the family and raised serious questions.

In his letter, CM Sarma stated, “I am writing to draw your attention to a serious and distressing incident involving a young woman from Dima Hasao district of Assam, Smt. Rosmita Hojai… The circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death have raised serious concerns of possible foul play.”

Her mother lodged a Zero FIR in Assam, which the authorities later transferred to the concerned police station in Uttarakhand.

CM Sarma further said, “I urge you to ensure a comprehensive and time-bound investigation examining all possible angles. If anyone is found guilty, they must be identified, arrested, and prosecuted as per the law.”

The Assam government has assured full support to Rosmita’s family and is closely following the developments in the case.
