Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raj Planned to Burn A Woman and Fake Sonam’s Death

Another plan was to tell people that Sonam drowned and died

Sonam Raghuvanshi and her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha’s plans in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder were nothing less than a thriller with multiple plots and sub-plots.
In more shocking revelations, the Meghalaya Police said that Sonam and Raja were planning to burn a woman and pass off the charred body as that of Sonam Raghuvanshi’s.

Superintendent of Police (East Khasi Hills) Vivek Syiem said, “One plan was to make people believe she drowned in a river. Another was to kill an unknown woman, burn her in a two-wheeler, and claim it was Sonam. However, none of the plans fructified.” These macabre tactics, police believe, were aimed at buying Sonam time to remain in hiding.

Investigations revealed that Raj Kushwaha was the mastermind behind the plot. Both Raj and Sonam attempted to kill Raja on three occasions first in Guwahati, then in Nongriat, and later in Mawlakhiat. “They couldn’t find a proper location to dispose of the body until they finally succeeded in Sohra, when Raja went to relieve himself,” SP Syiem added.

After the murder, Sonam escaped from Meghalaya wearing a burqa, traveling with different taxis, buses, and trains to reach Madhya Pradesh. She was eventually traced and apprehended in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, on June 10 at around 1 AM.

The brutal murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, who was on his honeymoon in Meghalaya with Sonam, had gripped the nation ever since the couple was reported missing on May 23.

The mystery deepened after Raja’s decomposed body was found on June 2 in Sohra, while Sonam remained untraceable for over a week.

With these latest developments, the Meghalaya Police have not only cracked one of the most disturbing murder cases in recent times but also exposed a gruesome plot that could have claimed more lives in a bid to conceal the truth.
