No Escape for Poison Peddlers: 29,600 YABA Tablets Seized in Assam’s Kaliganj, CM Sarma Hails Police Action

Sribhumi police intercepted a vehicle and recovered 29,600 YABA tablets. One drug peddler was arrested during the operation.

In a major breakthrough in the ongoing war against drugs, Assam Police seized YABA tablets worth Rs 4.5 crore in the Kaliganj area in Karimganj District of Assam.

Acting on specific inputs, the Sribhumi police intercepted a vehicle and recovered 29,600 YABA tablets. One drug peddler was arrested during the operation.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media platform X to commend the efforts, stating, “No Escape For The Poison Peddlers. @sribhumipolice took down a major narcotics network in the Kaliganj area, intercepting a vehicle and seizing 29,600 YABA tablets worth R 4.5 crore. 1 peddler arrested. Kudos to @assampolice for their relentless fight against drugs.”

This seizure marks another significant stride in Assam’s sustained crackdown on drug trafficking, reinforcing the government’s zero-tolerance policy and unwavering commitment to eradicating the drug menace from the state.
