Army Camp Swept Away by Landslide: 2 More Bodies Recovered After 8 Days, Headless Torso Could be of Missing Lt Col’s Wife or Daughter

The body of Army jawan Sainudheen PK was recovered, bringing the total number of bodies to have been found to 3.

Rescue teams have recovered two additional bodies, one male and one female, from the site of the June 1 landslide at the Indian Army camp in Chaten, North Sikkim. The bodies have not been identified yet, but the female body might be that of the wife or the daughter of missing Lt Colonel Pritpal Singh Sandhu. The female body recovered is a headless torso.

Lt Col Singh, his wife (give name here), a retired squadron leader, and their daughter had gone missing 9 days ago when a massive landslide swept away the army camp at Chaten.

Earlier, the body of Army jawan Sainudheen PK was recovered, bringing the total number of bodies to have been found to 3.

The search operation is going on to locate the remaining three missing personnel. Mangan Superintendent of Police Sonam Detchu Bhutia confirmed the recovery of the two bodies and assured continued efforts to find the missing individuals.
