Assam Medical Student Assaulted Allegedly Inside Sikkim Manipal Hostel; University Authorities Yet to Respond

As of now, the Sikkim Manipal authorities have not issued any official statement.

In a disturbing incident, a medical student from Assam was reportedly assaulted by a group of 7 to 8 youths inside a hostel at Sikkim Manipal Medical College at around 8 PM yesterday.

Though the exact reason behind the assault remains unclear, the incident has sparked serious concerns over student safety and campus security. Visuals from the scene show a security guard trying to shield the student but being overpowered by the attackers.

As of now, the Sikkim Manipal authorities have not issued any official statement. When contacted, Gangtok SP confirmed that no FIR has been filed yet but assured that the matter will be investigated thoroughly to ascertain the facts.

The Manipal administration has also claimed no prior details of the incident. However, silence from the authorities continues to raise questions. The student’s condition remains undisclosed, and further details are awaited as the situation unfolds.
