Tipra Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma Meets Guv Nallu, Urges Prompt Implementation of MHA’s Identify Illegal Bangladeshi and Myanmar Infiltrators Directive

He warned that Tipra Motha would launch a strike across Tripura if the state fails to act within the 30-day timeframe mandated by the Centre
Ruling BJP’s alliance partner, Tipra Motha party’s MLA Ranjit Debbarma on Friday met Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu and submitted a memorandum demanding the state government urgently implement the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) notification on time-bound identification and deportation of illegal migrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar.
Debbarma, who was accompanied by four party members, expressed strong dissatisfaction over the state government’s “complete silence” on the MHA’s May 19 directive and urged the Governor to intervene immediately.
He warned that Tipra Motha, despite being an ally of the ruling BJP, would launch a continuous strike across Tripura if the state fails to act within the 30-day timeframe mandated by the Centre.
Speaking to the media after the Raj Bhavan meeting, Debbarma said, “I had earlier written to the Chief Secretary, all District Magistrates, and Superintendents of Police, but there has been no action. The state government appears to be deliberately ignoring the MHA’s directive for political reasons.”
Debbarma has been leading a campaign to pressure the state government to implement the central directive, which calls for urgent identification and deportation of undocumented foreign nationals. His party views the issue as a serious threat to indigenous identity and regional security.
He reiterated that if no concrete steps are taken within the Centre’s stipulated deadline, Tipra Motha will be compelled to resort to a state-wide agitation.
