Couple from Madhya Pradesh Goes Missing in Meghalaya. Second Such Incident after a Hungarian Tourist had gone Missing in March

Couple Missing in Meghalaya: The couple identified as Sonam Raghuvanshi and her husband Raja Raghuvanshi have been missing for over 24 hours.
A couple from Indore, Madhya Pradesh who had come to Meghalaya as tourists have gone missing from Sohra in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district.
The couple identified as Sonam Raghuvanshi and her husband Raja Raghuvanshi have been missing for over 24 hours.
According to police sources, the couple had rented a two-wheeler to explore the popular tourist destination. The vehicle was later found abandoned near Sohra Rim, a well-known viewpoint in the region. Authorities also confirmed that multiple attempts to reach the couple have failed, as both their mobile phones are switched off. The couple was last seen on Sunday.
A search operation has been launched, and police are investigating all possible angles, including checking CCTV footage and speaking with locals.
Significantly, on March 29 this year a Hungarian tourist had gone missing from the same area, Sohra-Shella area making the disappearance of the couple the second such incident in just 2 months.
The body of the Hungarian tourist was found on a steep slope in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district on April 10.
Following this incident Meghalaya Government asked tourists to carefully tour the hilly terrain under the strict guidance of local guides and not to venture alone in the rugged hilly terrains engulfed in inclement weather.
