Sources confirmed that officials have taken the six arrested individuals to the detention centre in Goalpara.
In a major development, the Assam Police have arrested six illegal Bangladeshi nationals in Tezpur as part of their ongoing crackdown across the state. This comes just a day after police arrested nine illegal Bangladeshis in Morigaon.
Sources confirmed that officials have taken the six arrested individuals to the detention centre in Goalpara. They will now go through the judicial process as per legal procedures.
The intensified crackdown follows a recent notification from the Union Home Ministry, which directed all state governments to identify and act against illegal immigrants within a time frame of 30 days.
With back-to-back arrests in different districts, the Assam Police have stepped up their efforts to trace and detain illegal foreigners staying in the state without valid documents
