The MoU, which both parties will formalise soon, will help build a sustainable tourism model in Mizoram.

In a major step to boost tourism in the Northeast, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is all set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Tourism, Government of Mizoram. This new partnership aims to strengthen travel connections, promote eco-tourism, and offer curated travel experiences across the scenic state of Mizoram, known for its green landscapes and vibrant cultural heritage.

The MoU, which both parties will formalise soon, will help build a sustainable tourism model in Mizoram. The agreement will highlight Mizoram’s unique charm and attract more domestic and international tourists.

As part of this plan, IRCTC will actively promote Mizoram’s natural beauty and rich culture across the country and overseas. It will also launch attractive international tour packages for residents of Mizoram. These packages will cover popular destinations such as Nepal, Bhutan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and several countries in Europe. The tours will come at competitive prices to make international travel more accessible for Mizoram residents.

Adding a special spiritual touch, IRCTC will also offer curated Biblical pilgrimage tours. These spiritual journeys will include visits to key Christian heritage sites in Greece, like Corinth, Thessaloniki, Athens, and Patmos, as well as Rome in Italy. These all-inclusive packages will feature round-trip airfare, stays in premium 4- or 5-star hotels, meals, guided local tours, and comfortable transportation to offer travelers a smooth and meaningful experience.

With this collaboration, IRCTC and Mizoram Tourism aim to bring Mizoram into the spotlight as a top travel destination and give a major push to the state’s tourism economy.
