CRPF Jawan from Mizoram, Jeffrey Hmingchullo Honoured With Shaurya Chakra, India’s Third-Highest Peacetime Gallantry Award

Jeffrey Hmingchullo from Mizoram serving in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), has been conferred the Shaurya Chakra, India’s third-highest peacetime gallantry award for his exemplary courage and selfless service to the nation.

Jeffrey Hmingchullo is among the 33 personnel awarded the Shaurya Chakra this year, including 7 posthumously, during a Defence Investiture Ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday.

President Droupadi Murmu also conferred 6 Kirti Chakras- India’s second-highest peacetime gallantry award including 4 posthumously, to personnel of the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police.

They were given the prestigious award by President Droupadi Murmu.

Serving with distinction in one of India’s most challenging security forces, Inspector Hmingchullo’s gallant service stands as a shining example of valor and integrity.

Praising Hmingchullo for the achievement, Chief Minister Lalduhoma took to X and wrote, “Inspector Jeffrey Hmingchullo of the CRPF has been awarded the Shaurya Chakra, India’s third-highest peacetime gallantry award. He has brought honor to the Zo people, set a noble example for others, and inspired us to love our country with selfless devotion. Congratulations to Inspector Hmingchullo on this well-deserved recognition of his bravery and service.”
