Assam CM comments come in the wake of Operation Sindoor, a successful retaliatory strike following the tragic terrorist attacks in Pahalgam.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has commended the Indian Armed Forces for their professionalism, precision, and transparency, particularly during recent briefings on Operation Sindoor and India’s evolving defence strategy.

Speaking highly of the Directorate General of Military Operations (DGMO), Sarma said their briefings showcased the confidence and competence of India’s military. “The DGMO briefings were intense, unapologetically professional, and brutally honest,” he remarked.

He further stated, “They faced difficult questions without hesitation and left no doubt the Indian Armed Forces have struck deep inside Pakistani territory with absolute precision and determination.”

Sarma drew attention to India’s formidable Integrated Air Defence System, describing it as both a shield and a statement of the nation’s growing technological superiority. He said, “It is not merely a defence mechanism, it is a declaration of India’s military dominance. Today, India sets the terms of engagement, from the skies to the ground.”

His comments come in the wake of Operation Sindoor, a successful retaliatory strike following the tragic terrorist attacks in Pahalgam on April 22. The operation, carried out across the Line of Control, reportedly neutralised over 100 militants in Pakistani and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) regions.

The Chief Minister was unequivocal in asserting that India’s approach is now grounded in strategy and strength, not rhetoric. “This is not propaganda. This is the new India guided by strategy, powered by strength, and backed by facts,” he said.

Sarma’s remarks serve as a strong message to both Pakistan and the global community, underscoring India’s unwavering commitment to protecting its sovereignty and eliminating terrorism. He warned Islamabad against violating the ceasefire or initiating aggression, stressing that India would respond swiftly and decisively.

He also linked the country’s military strength to its economic progress. Highlighting reforms like the Goods and Services Tax (GST), Sarma noted that such initiatives have enabled critical defence acquisitions, including Rafale jets and the S-400 missile systems.

As regional tensions continue, Sarma’s statements reflect a clear shift in India’s defence posture under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, one that is assertive, strategic, and fully prepared to act in the nation’s interest.
