ANSAM Welcomes NEET Centres in Manipur Hill Districts, Urges Govt to Open More Exam Centres for Competitive Tests

The All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has appreciated the Government of Manipur and the concerned authorities for opening NEET exam centres in the hill districts of Manipur since 2024. The association also urged the Central Government to open more examination centres for various other competitive exams in the hill districts, stating that such initiatives would greatly help tribal students who face financial and logistical challenges.
In a release, ANSAM stated that opening NEET centres in the hill areas is a positive gesture that shows genuine concern for the tribal population. The move has brought great relief to students from remote areas by reducing travel burdens, preventing insecurities, and avoiding inconveniences often faced while travelling to distant exam centres.
The association appealed to the Centre to consider setting up more centres for other competitive examinations in the future. ANSAM pointed out that this will not only support underprivileged students but also reflect the improvement in law and order in the hill districts.
As NEET (UG) 2025 is set to be conducted on May 4 by the National Testing Agency (NTA), ANSAM extended its best wishes to all candidates. This year’s NEET will witness participation from 23 lakh students across 552 cities in India and 14 international centres.
Highlighting the importance of NEET for admission into undergraduate medical, dental, and allied health sciences programs like MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BNYS, BUMS, BSMS, BVSc & AH, and BPT, ANSAM encouraged more youths to take up the medical profession as a noble service to humanity.
The association also made an appeal to civil society organizations and the public to extend full cooperation and avoid any form of strike or bandh during the examination period. ANSAM stressed the need for a free, fair, and peaceful atmosphere to ensure that the NEET (UG) 2025 is conducted smoothly across the state.
