Two Baby Collared Scops Owls Rescued in Manipur

Frequent wildfires and the destruction of natural habitats continue to threaten the survival of wildlife in Manipur.

Environment activist Anish Ahamad rescued two baby Collared Scops Owls from Laitha Loukol in Kwakta, Manipur yesterday evening. He informed the State Forest Department and handed over the owls to staff under the Divisional Forest Office Bishnupur, Range Forest Office Moirang.

Frequent wildfires and the destruction of natural habitats continue to threaten the survival of wildlife in Manipur. Experts warn that the loss of habitats remains one of the major factors leading to the decline of many species, posing a serious threat to the ecosystem’s balance.

Anish Ahamad has consistently worked to protect wildlife over the past decades. He has rescued and safely handed over more than 36 wild animals to the Forest Department. Besides his rescue missions, Anish has raised environmental and wildlife conservation awareness across the northeastern states and in the national capital, New Delhi.
