Tripura royal scion Pradyot Debbarma has once again raised an alarm over border security and demographic changes in the Northeast from neighbouring Bangladesh.

In a social media post on Sunday, Pradyot Debbarma said that Bangladeshi infiltrators are entering the region everyday, but manage to get away because of the terrain and porous border.

“Illegal Bangladeshi are entering everyday ! For every 5 people apprehended 1000 get away because of the terrain and porous border”, Debbarma said.

Highlighting the seriousness of the situation, Pradyot Debbarma stated that Tripura is going through demographic change once again.

According to Pradyot Debbarma, Assam, Tripura and parts of Meghalaya have become active transit points for illegal migration to Northeast and rest of India.

Calling for urgent government attention into the matter, Pradyot Debbarma said that the indigenous Tiprasa youths are ready to defend the land at any cost.

“If given the support they will defend our land and kick out illegal Bangladeshis from entering India,” Pradyot further stated in his post.

It may be mentioned that scores of Bangladeshis are detected every month entering India through the poeous border in Tripura. There is fear that hundreds of other illegal infiltrators are going undetected.
Notably, security agencies arrested four illegal Bangladeshi nationals on Sunday from Agartala rail station based on a tip-off.

As per inputs, the arrested Bangladeshi nationals entered India illegally and arrived at the Agartala rail station to board a outbound train.
