Assam CM's big statement came in even as he stated that the crackdown on Pakistan supporters will continue unabated in the state.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that the National Security Act (NSA) will be slapped on all those who have supported the Pahalgam terror attack and Pakistan.
“Yesterday, the secretary of the Chatra Mukti Sangram Parishad was arrested for supporting Pakistan. Whoever speaks against the nation will be arrested. If needed, NSA will be slapped on them,” said CM Sarma.
“Those who will not repent and there is a likelihood that they will do it again will definitely be booked under NSA. NSA is not for a past crime, it is basically to prevent future crime. So those who are not repenting and there is a very high likelihood that they are going to repeat, we are going to arrest them under NSA”, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
“Sedition charges have already been slapped and we are very tough. My job is to make sure that in Assam there is no pro-Pakistani and pro-Bangladeshi element. So my fight is against pro-Pakistani and pro-Bangladeshi elements. We are going to take the hardest possible stand against the sympathizers of Pakistan and the present ruler of Bangladesh”, he added.
