Arunachal’s IAF Corporal Tage Hailyang Killed in Pahalgam Attack, Laid to Rest with Full Honours in Ziro

The Indian Air Force performed the final rites with full military honours, including a gun salute, to pay tribute to their brave comrade.

The last journey of Indian Air Force Corporal Tage Hailyang, who was tragically killed in the terror attack at Pahalgam on April 22. was held on Friday at his hometown Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh with deep sorrow and honour.

The Indian Air Force performed the final rites with full military honours, including a gun salute, to pay tribute to their brave comrade. Alongside the military salute, Christian funeral rituals were conducted in accordance with his faith. The ceremony was attended by a large number of mourners including Former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, local MLA Hage Appa, Former MLA Tage Taki, the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, Inspector General of Police, villagers, and family members.

Corporal Hailyang’s mortal remains reached his native village Tajang on Thursday, where his grief-stricken family and hundreds of locals gathered to receive him with tears and prayers. The mortal remains had earlier arrived at Guwahati Airport on Wednesday, before being transported to his hometown.

A resident of Ziro in Lower Subansiri district, Tage Hailyang had been serving in the Indian Air Force with dedication and pride. He was among the 26 people killed in the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. At the time of the attack, Corporal Hailyang had been holidaying with his wife.
