After Aminul Islam’s arrest, Ajmal expressed regret over the remarks and made it clear that these are not the views of the AIUDF
The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has distanced itself from party MLA Aminul Islam after his controversial remarks linking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to Pahalgam terror attack leading to his arrest today.
In a video statement released shortly after Aminul Islam’s arrest, AIUDF President Badruddin Ajmal expressed regret over the remarks and made it clear that these are not the views of the AIUDF.
“I heard about the arrest of Aminul Islam for his remarks on the Pahalgam terrorist attack. It is very unfortunate that he made such a statement. At this crucial time, we stand united with the Government of India. This I have said yesterday and I am saying it again. This is our stand. A terrorist is a terrorist, they have no caste, no religion. Those involved in terrorism are defaming Islam and Muslims. Condemnation is never enough for such acts. Whatever Aminul Islam said is entirely his own opinion, that’s not the party’s view. ,” said Ajmal.
Earlier, yesterday Ajmal condemned the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 28 lives, calling it a direct assault on human values and national harmony.
“I strongly condemn the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam area of Kashmir that claimed the lives of at least 28 innocent tourists and caused injuries to many others on 22nd April 2025.I am deeply shocked and saddened by the inhuman and barbaric act of terror that has taken the lives of innocent civilians in Kashmir. This heinous crime is not only a direct assault on human values but also a grave attempt to disrupt the peace and harmony of our country. Such acts of terror are absolutely unacceptable and must be condemned in the strongest terms. I, on my behalf and behalf of our party AIUDF, strongly condemn this cowardly attack. I urge the Government of India to take all necessary actions to bring the perpetrators to justice. I request the Government of India to ensure that he terrorists behind this massacre must be punished promptly and severely. Every culprit, every individual and nation that involved in planning and executing this attack must face stringent punishment and severe consequence so that such evil is never repeated on our soil. We stand firmly with the Government of India against all those forces who attack our citizens and try to disturb the peaceful environment of our nation. I extend heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased and I pray for speedy recovery of the injured. I stand in full solidarity with those affected by this barbaric attack. The entire nation mourns this loss, and together we must ensure that justice is delivered. Our party AIUDF stands united with the nation in these trying times and reaffirms its commitment to peace, unity, and justice,” he said.
Aminul Islam has been arrested by the Assam Police Crime Branch for claiming that the BJP-led central government may have orchestrated these attacks to serve political interests.
He is the AIUDF MLA from Dhing.
