Chief Minister Rio said this while addressing the 8th Eastern Naga Students’ Federation Cultural Fiesta and General Conference in Tuensang, but the question arises as to what his own government has done all this years to usher in progress in the areas.

Chief Minister Rio noted that while the rest of Nagaland embraced Christianity and education early, the eastern regions lagged behind due to delayed administrative focus, with the first headquarters established in Tuensang in 1957.
Rio also underscored the state’s commitment to improving education, healthcare, infrastructure, roads, and communication in the eastern districts.
Chief Minister Rio also acknowledged the longstanding demand for a separate “Frontier Nagaland Territory” during the event.
