CM Himanta Biswa Chairs Key Meeting Ahead of Assam Budget 2025; Focus on Youth, Welfare and Infrastructure

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a high-level meeting with BJP MLAs in Guwahati on March 9 to strategise ahead of the state budget presentation on March 10. The discussion focused on ensuring that government welfare schemes effectively reach every household in Assam.

The chief minister confirmed that the new budget would introduce several welfare schemes aimed at uplifting the poor and middle-class sections of society. Special attention will be given to initiatives benefiting students and the youth.

Sarma also announced that multiple new infrastructure projects will be unveiled in this year’s budget. He invited citizens to actively participate in the budget-making process by sharing suggestions and innovative ideas, urging for ‘scientific solutions’ to address Assam’s key challenges.

Meanwhile, Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog, who will present the state budget tomorrow, assured that it will focus equally on women, youth, and economically weaker sections. She higlighted that the budget is designed to propel Assam toward becoming one of the leading states in the country.
