Former Principal of Pragjyotish College, Prof Pradeep Dastidar Passes Away at 86

Prof Dastidar who taught Physics, was very popular among his students and a respected figure among Assam's academic fraternity.
Distinguished academician and former Principal of Pragjyotish College, Guwahati, Professor Pradeep Dastidar, passed away today morning at the age of 86 at his residence in Chenikuthi, Guwahati.
Prof Dastidar who taught Physics, was very popular among his students and a respected figure among Assam’s academic fraternity. He had immensely contributed to the field of education and his commitment to nurturing young minds was always appreciated and acknowledged.
Apart from his illustrious academic career, Prof Dastidar was passionate about sports and as the Governing Body Member of the Assam Cricket Association, always encouraged young talents.
He was also the President of Navarang Club, Guwahati, and the Tennis Secretary at India Club, Guwahati.
Prof Dastidar is survived by his four daughters, Monmee Dastidar Barua, Sagarika Dastidar Hatkhowa, Malabika Dastidar Bora and Sumee Dastidar Hazarika.
