Meghalaya CM’s Scholarship Scheme to Benefit 80,000 Youth

Rs 6,000 per annum will be given to all post matriculate students for educational expenses
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in his Budget speech today announced the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme, a new flagship program that will benefit 80,000 youth from April this year.
Under the scheme, a scholarship of Rs 6,000 per annum will be provided to all post matriculate students to enable them to cover educational expenses.
The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of supporting students, acknowledging the growing need for financial assistance. He emphasized that while the government may not be able to provide full support in every aspect, the scholarship would serve as a significant step in helping students pursue higher education and further their academic ambitions. The scheme will apply to post-matriculate students enrolled in various courses, offering them crucial financial aid.
To back this initiative, the government has allocated Rs 48 crore for the scheme, underlining its commitment to student welfare and educational empowerment.
The Chief Minister said that the new scheme would begin in the coming financial year, providing much-needed support to thousands of students across the state and helping them achieve their educational goals.
