Mizoram CM Lalduhoma Warns Against Proxy Workers in Govt Departments

Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma has issued a stern warning against proxy workers, declaring that the practice will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The Chief Minister announced a grace period for government employees to adjust to the required work shifts. Those failing to comply within this timeframe will face consequences. To further streamline the workforce, Lalduhoma also revealed the establishment of a Review Committee in all government departments. This committee will oversee a Special Pension Scheme, enabling early retirement for employees unable to perform their duties.

Meanwhile, Labour, Employment, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar introduced the Mizoram Youth Commission Bill, 2025 in the Assembly.

The Bill seeks to strengthen youth-focused initiatives by enhancing the powers and functions of the commission. Key provisions include structured employment channels for MYC staff and compulsory financial audits, ensuring greater transparency and efficiency.

These reforms mark a significant step towards improving governance and fostering youth development in Mizoram.
