Assam: Traffic restrictions Imposed in Guwahati from February 24-26 For Two Mega Events

These regulations aim to minimise congestion, provide seamless movement for emergency services, and facilitate the success.
To ensure public convenience and safety, as well as facilitate the smooth passage of emergency services, the Guwahati Traffic Police will regulate vehicular movement on February 24, 25, and 26, 2025. The restrictions will primarily affect entry into the Sarusajai Sports Complex and Khanapara Veterinary Field in connection with the ‘Jhumoir Binandini’ event and the ‘Advantage Assam 2.0′ summit.
Entry Guidelines for Sarusajai Sports Complex (Jhumoir Binandini)
- GOLD Vehicle Pass Holders: Entry through Gate No. 1B (Main Entry Gate), drop-off near the main roundabout, with parking near the Indoor Stadium.
- DROP OFF Vehicle Pass Holders: Entry through Gate No. 1B (Main Entry Gate), drop-off near the roundabout, with parking at AEGCL Parking via Gate No. 4.
- Essential Service Vehicles (GREEN Pass Holders): Entry through Gate No. 1B (Main Entry Gate).
- Other Card/Invitation Holders: Entry via Gate No. 1C (Main Gate) on foot.
- The stretch from Koinadhara to Jalukbari will be a NO ESCORT/PILOT Vehicle Zone.
Entry Guidelines for Khanapara Veterinary Field (Advantage Assam 2.0)
- SAFFRON (Pentagon) Pass Holders: Entry via Gate No. 4 (in front of the National Science Centre), drop-off inside the venue, and exit from Gate No. 3 with parking at the Regional Science Centre Campus.
- SAFFRON (Triangle) and GOLD Pass Holders: Entry through Gate No. 6 (in front of APSC Office), drop-off at the gate, parking at Veterinary College Field, exit via Gate No. 9 (near Rohika Guest House) on NH-27 Service Lane after VVIP departure.
- Liaison Officers of Delegates: Parking at Sericulture Field.
- SILVER, BRONZE, BLUE, and GREEN Pass Holders: Entry via Gate No. 7 (on APSC Road), the drop-off in front of the gate, with parking at various designated locations, including GMC parking Khanapara, Rohika Guest House, ISBT Khanapara, Assam Accord Field on GS Road, Devashi Parking, Basistha, Pinku Parking, Basistha, Beltola Bihutoli Field, Basistha, Bongaon Field, Basistha, and K.V. School, Khanapara.
- Post WIP Departure: Gate No. 10 (opposite Koinadhara Hill) will be opened for use.
- Escort/Pilot Vehicles: Parking on the roadside at the Jayanagar to Tripura Gali stretch.
Vehicle Movement and Regulation:
- Restrictions on Commercial Goods Vehicles:
February 24, 2025: Vehicles of four wheels and above will be restricted on NH-27 and NH-17 within Guwahati City from 7 AM to 11:30 PM.
February 25 & 26, 2025: Vehicles of four wheels and above will be restricted from 6 AM to 10 PM.
- Additional Restrictions on Commercial Goods Vehicles (Three Wheels and Above):
February 24, 2025 (9 AM – 11:30 PM): Restricted roads include A.K. Azad Road, A.K. Deb Road, Jalukbari Rotary to Bharalumukh on Dinesh Goswami Road, Garchuk-Pamohi Road, Boragaon Swahid Nyas Path, Gorol Road, Bhobendra Nath Saikia Road, Dakhingaon Road, Lalmati Bhetapara Road, Beharbari Bhetapara Road, AG Colony Road, Tripura Lane Road, VIP Road, Basistha Mandir Road, and GS Road (Ulubari to Khanapara).
February 25 & 26, 2025 (6 AM – 10 PM): Restricted roads include GS Road (Ulubari to Khanapara), Prison Gate to Beltola Tiniali Point, Six Mile to Joyanagar, Bhobendra Nath Saikia Road, VIP Road, Zoo Road, and Panjabari Road.
The Guwahati Traffic Police urges citizens to cooperate with the restrictions to ensure a smooth and safe experience during these major events. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, use alternative routes where necessary, and follow traffic advisories issued by the authorities.
These regulations aim to minimise congestion, provide seamless movement for emergency services, and facilitate the success of both Jhumoir Binandini and Advantage Assam 2.0.
