CM Khandu urged officers to focus on finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has emphasised that government officers and officials, particularly those in district administrations, are the true backbone of governance.

Chairing a review meeting with East Siang district officials on Tuesday, CM Khandu urged officers to focus on finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems, stating that such an approach would accelerate the state’s development and uplift society as a whole.

Highlighting the role of governance, he stated that while ministers and MLAs serve as policymakers, it is the government officials who implement these policies on the ground. The success of any administration, he stressed, depends on the honesty, sincerity, and efficiency of its government employees.

Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to empowering government officials, CM Khandu particularly emphasised the role of Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in achieving ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Arunachal’ by 2047, a vision set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He announced the launch of Bottom-up Planning, where district-level vision and development plans will be drafted under the leadership of Deputy Commissioners.

Additionally, Guardian Ministers and Mentor Secretaries appointed by the government will conduct review meetings in their respective districts, engaging with stakeholders and submitting reports to the government to ensure the efficient execution of policies and projects.

Referring to the recent Deputy Commissioners’ conference in Itanagar, CM Khandu reiterated the importance of its six thematic governance themes, urging officials to align their execution of schemes and programs with these principles.

Speaking about Pasighat, the state’s oldest town with over a 100-year history, the Chief Minister assured that the government is committed to its development and will take all necessary steps to transform it into one of the top cities in Arunachal Pradesh.
