Indo-Bangladesh Joint Team Begins Boundary Inspection in Mizoram

A Joint Boundary Inspection Team from India and Bangladesh has arrived in Mizoram as part of a field survey for the 2024-2025 season. The inspection follows resolutions made during the 45th Joint Boundary Conference held in Kolkata from November 12 to 14, 2024.
The Indian delegation, led by Uday Shanker Prasad, Director of the West Bengal & Sikkim Geo-Spatial Directorate, Survey of India, consists of six members. Meanwhile, the Bangladeshi team, headed by Brigadier General Nur-E-Alam Mohammad Sobayer Sarwar, Surveyor General of Bangladesh, comprises seven members.
The inspection, scheduled from February 4 to 10, 2025, will take place in Indian territory until February 7, before shifting to Bangladeshi territory from February 7 to 10.
The joint team will evaluate the progress of boundary fieldwork, inspect boundary pillars between MP 2359 and MP 2360, and review pending fieldwork from the 2019-2020 season, which remained uninspected due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, they will provide guidance to survey teams to ensure the smooth completion of the 2024-2025 boundary survey.
