Police Arrests Man Accused of Raping Mother of Two in Front of her Children

According to reports, Badrul Islam forcibly entered the house, tied the woman’s hands and feet, and raped her in front of her two children.

A man identified as Badrul Islam alias Putul has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman and attempting to kill her by pouring an acid-like substance on her in Cachar district. The horrific incident took place on January 22 in the Bhaga Rajghat area when the victim’s husband was away from home.

According to reports, Badrul Islam forcibly entered the house, tied the woman’s hands and feet, and raped her in front of her two children. His brutality did not stop there he then poured a corrosive substance on her, causing severe burns. The victim is currently in critical condition at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

The shocking crime came to light when the victim’s six-year-old son narrated the ordeal to his father upon his return. Following the widespread media coverage of the incident, Dholai police arrested the accused from Kachudaram after nearly a week of investigation.

Badrul, now in police custody, has denied the charges, claiming that he was owed money by the victim’s family. However, police are continuing their investigation to ascertain the full extent of the crime.
