Progress on Frontier Nagaland Demand: Nagaland Governor Hints at Breakthrough

Governor revealed that the Neiphiu Rio-led state government has submitted its feedback on the third draft of the memorandum of settlement.

During the 76th Republic Day celebrations in Kohima, Nagaland Governor La Ganesan highlighted significant progress on the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization’s (ENPO) demand for the creation of Frontier Nagaland.

In his address, Governor Ganesan revealed that the Neiphiu Rio-led state government has submitted its feedback on the third draft of the memorandum of settlement for the proposed Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority. He expressed hope that outstanding concerns of the ENPO would soon be resolved through dialogue and brotherhood.

The Governor also reiterated the government’s dedication to addressing the larger Naga political issue, emphasising efforts to ensure lasting peace and development in the state. Ganesan commended the government’s commitment to upholding constitutional ideals while striving to meet the aspirations of the people.

The demand for Frontier Nagaland, spearheaded by the ENPO, has been a key issue in the region, with expectations rising for a resolution in the near future.
