Assam CM Confident of BJP and Allies Crossing 100-Seat Mark in 2026 State Assembly Polls

Newly elected Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia also said that he will aim to secure well over 70% electoral support for the party in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today exuded confidence that it will not be difficult for the BJP and allies to cross the 100-seat mark in the 2026 Assembly elections in Assam.

Addressing a gathering of party leaders and workers after Dilip Saikia was appointed the Assam BJP president today, CM Sarma pointed out that the BJP and allies were ahead in as many s 94 Assembly seats in the Lok Sabha polls.

“With the election of Dilip Saikia as the President of Assam BJP, we have entrusted him with the responsibility of leading our party to victory and securing a third consecutive term in the 2026 Assam Assembly Elections. in the 18th Lok Sabha elections, the NDA in Assam has garnered more votes than opposition parties in 94 out of 126 assembly Segments. I am confident that under Saikia’s leadership, our party, along with our allied partners, will cross the 100-seat mark in the upcoming elections,” said Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Speaking to media, the newly elected Assam BJP President also said that his aim will be to secure well over 70% electoral support for the BJP in both the upcoming Panchayat and Assembly elections.

“BJP is a family, and its workers are the backbone. With the party’s support, I aim to secure over 70% electoral support in both the upcoming Panchayat and Assembly elections,” said Saikia.
