Assam Rifles and Manipur Police have urged the help of local communities to recover illegal weapons
Assam Rifles and Manipur Police, in a joint operation, recovered weapons and other war like stores from Nepali Basti, Zero Point – P1 Railway Site Road, 6 kms North of Kotlen Village on Tuesday morning.
The recovered items include one 9 mm CMG with two magazines, two country-made single barrel rifles, one hand grenade and one Motorola (Baofeng), which were handed over to the police for further investigation.
Security forces recovered 19 weapons, ammunition, and war-like stores from various districts of ethnic strife-hit Manipur during a series of joint operations that took place between January 6 and January 9, an official release said on Monday.
Over the past few months, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police have been actively engaged in intelligence-based operations focused on identifying and neutralizing illegal weapon smuggling networks. Through diligent surveillance and coordinated efforts, the force has been able to disrupt these networks and confiscate a significant cache of weapons.
Assam Rifles and Manipur Police urges the local community to play an active role in supporting their efforts by providing any information related to illegal weapons or suspicious activities. This collaborative approach will further strengthen the fight against crime and ensure the continued prosperity of the region.
