Authorities have cancelled all advance permits for JN Road as a precaution

Sikkim is experiencing heavy snowfall, leading to the partial or complete closure of several tourist routes, disrupting travel plans of tourists and locals alike.

Here are the Route Updates:

  1. JN Road, Sikkim:
    JN Road, connecting Gangtok to scenic locations like Changu Lake and Nathula Pass, is currently open only up to the 10th Mile. Authorities have halted the issuance of permits for Kanchenjunga View Point, Changu Lake, Nathula, and Baba Mandir due to hazardous conditions.
  2. RN Road:
    This road, leading to destinations like Dzaluk, is accessible only up to Dzaluk. However, Thambi View Point remains closed, and permits are restricted to Dzaluk.
  3. Lachung Road:
    Lachung, a gateway to Yumthang Valley, remains open up to Yumthang. Zero Point is inaccessible, with permits limited to Yumthang Valley.
  4. Lachen Road:
    Lachen is accessible, but travel to the famed Gurudongmar Lake is not permitted. Permits are restricted to Lachen.

Authorities have cancelled all advance permits for JN Road as a precaution. Tourists and locals are urged to exercise caution and plan their journeys accordingly while the weather remains severe.
