While speaking to Northeast Live, Dr. Bhaskar Chowdhury said, “Due to injuries from sharp objects, he lost his complete vision in his left eye. There is haemorrhage on the right eye, nose and brain. He has sustained multiple injuries in several parts of his body. He is in a critical condition”.
“Since he has lost his vision, we are unable to release him; therefore, he might be moved to the Assam Zoo. The Assam Department of Forests ought to address this issue and charge those responsible. Our national animal, the tiger, is a highly protected animal”, he added.
On Wednesday, the tiger searching for a safe habitat, was attacked by people and pelted with stones. What is even more disheartening is the fact that the tiger was attacked when it was trying to cross the Kolong river.
