Within hours of a Guwahati Cop being suspended for assaulting a delivery boy in Guwahati, a shocking incident from Jorhat has come to light, where a three-month-old infant was allegedly injured during a police assault. A woman has accused a female sub-inspector, identified as Bornali Gohain from Bhogdoi Police Station, of physically assaulting her while she was holding her baby.
The incident reportedly occurred during a police search operation at the woman’s residence, conducted to locate her husband. The woman has alleged that during the altercation, the sub-inspector assaulted her, causing serious injuries to the infant in her arms.
Outraged by the alleged assault, the woman has filed an FIR against the sub-inspector at Jorhat Sadar Police Station. Speaking to the media, she expressed deep concern about her baby’s condition, claiming that the injuries sustained were severe.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many questioning the police’s use of force, especially in the presence of children. This incident comes in the wake of another case of alleged police misconduct in Guwahati, where a delivery boy was reportedly beaten by police personnel, further intensifying scrutiny of law enforcement behavior in the state.
