Second Round of Centre-UNC Talks On 7 Manipur Districts On Nov 13

The last round of talks was held on October 11 in New Delhi. However, the meeting ended on an inconclusive note.
The Government of India will hold a fresh round of talks with the representatives of the United Naga Council (UNC) and the Manipur Government over the demand for the rollback of the creation of 7 new districts in Manipur on November 13, 2024, at Senapati, said North East advisor to Ministry of Home Affairs AK Mishra.

The last round of talks was held on October 11 in New Delhi. However, the meeting ended on an inconclusive note.
The October 11 meeting focused on the creation of 7 new districts by the Manipur Government and the UNC’s demand for the rollback of these districts.
The meeting was conducted in a cordial atmosphere, with mutual agreement that further progress would be achieved through sustained engagement, aiming to resolve the issue in a timebound manner, while considering previous commitments.
It needs to be mentioned that, 11 rounds of tripartite talks were held at Senapati District headquarters over the issue in the past with the last round of talks held on March 9, 2019.
