Monkeys Can’t Threaten a Lion: Pradyot Manikya Responds to Threats After Protesting Attacks on Minorities in Bangladesh

Every Indian will stand with what I have said about how our minorities have been targeted in Bangladesh, said Pradyot Debbarma.
Responding defiantly to threats received after his recent rally condemning the attacks against minorities in Bangladesh, Tipra Motha founder and Tripura Royal Scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma said “Monkeys can’t threaten a lion even if they are more in numbers” emphasizing his resolve in the face of intimidation.
Debbarma who has been voicing against attacks on minorities in neighbouring Bangladesh held a rally close to the India-Bangladesh border at Sabroom in Tripura on September 26 drawing attention to the recent ‘organized attacks’ that have left several dead and hundreds homeless and showing solidarity with Hindu Bengali, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Tiprasa, and indigenous tribals suffering in the country.
During the rally, Debbarma said, “Bangladesh was created out of Pakistan because Pakistan failed to protect its minorities. If Bangladesh does the same, it could end up fragmenting again. India won’t be responsible for this; Bangladesh will have to answer for its actions.”
He also said, “Without India’s help, specifically Tripura’s support, Bangladesh would never have gained independence from Pakistan. Yet today, some voices in Bangladesh are threatening to capture parts of Northeast India. But no matter how hard a monkey tries, it can never replace a tiger.”
Taking to X, Debbarma said that after the rally, he heard news of threats being issued against him. Addressing the threats he wrote, “Just heard news from Bangladesh and India haters issuing threats to me after our rally in Sabroom ! All I can say is monkeys in a forest can’t threaten a lion even through they are more in numbers. Every indian – Muslim ,Hindu,Christian,Buddhist,Sikh or an Atheist will stand with what I have said about how our minorities have been targeted in that country.”
It may be mentioned her that Tipra Motha has urged the Centre to mount diplomatic pressure and expose Bangladesh at international platforms, including the United Nations and global human rights organizations.
Pradyot Debbarma also warned that if Bangladesh allows hatred and violence to flourish, India could intervene.
