Naina Subba Tungbangphe from Arunachal Pradesh was crowned Sikkim Miss Limbu 2024, while Rahul Limboo from Dikchu, East Sikkim, took home the title of Mr. Limboo in Season 1.

The prestigious awards were presented at a grand ceremony held today at Manan Kendra in Gangtok.

The event featured contestants from Sikkim, West Bengal, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh, showcasing a diverse array of talent and cultural heritage.

Samnima Limbu from Bhaluthang, Avril Limbu from Simboley both from West Sikkim were respectively crowned 1st and 2nd Runners Up.

After winning the title, Naina Subba Tungbangphe said, “I am indebted to my roots. Our ancestors, my immediate family especially my Yuma (grandmother) who is the sole source of my energy. I must acknowledge and thank our Taaghera Ningwaphumaang our Yumaism godess for showering her blessings on me. Sikkim Miss Limbu 2024 was never my destination but it’s the milestone of my journey in learning our Yakthung/ Limbu’s rich culture & traditions. Limbu Folk Tales and Songs, Himalayan raw musics were my interests. I am blessed with so many humble souls in this journey who connected me to explore this world. Limboo Mahasabha, Assam gave a huge platform to perform and Sikkim Miss Limbu Organisation gave the space to spread my wings. I came to Gangtok from a small hamlet Wakro Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh with a negligible number of Limbus but in my neighborhood Tinsukia district of Assam and I found a playground to learn and grow.”

Organisers Sikkim Miss Limbu organisation CEO Binita Mabo Limbu congratulating 2024 edition of Sikkim Miss Limbu said, “Naina Subba is blessed with beauty, talent and grace who have truly shone throughout the competition and won the crown. She is indeed more than deserving and we are sure she shines on in her career as an entertainer and achieves brilliance in academics too.”

The event was graced by eminent dignitaries, including Chief Guest Cabinet Minister Bhim Hang Limboo, Member of Parliament Indra Hang Subba, and Maneybung Dentam constituency MLA Sudesh Kumar Subba, who served as Guests of Honour.
