Nagaland: Delhi High Court to Hear Petition on NDPP De-Recognition on December 11
First Published: 15th September, 2024 22:19 IST
The petitioner claims that the NDPP obtained its party registration through fraudulent means and breached Election Commission guidelines.
The Delhi High Court will hear the petition challenging the recognition of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, as a political party on December 11, 2024.
As per reports, the petition, filed by Zenei-silie Ate Loucii in May 2018, alleges that the NDPP obtained its party registration through fraudulent means and breached Election Commission guidelines.
The petitioner claims that the NDPP submitted false affidavits.
The petition alleges that 27 individuals, who were actual members of the Naga People’s Front (NPF), falsely affirmed their membership in the NDPP.
The case, initially heard in 2019, has now been set for its next hearing on December 11.
The petitioner has also sought a direction from the Election Commission to withdraw the NDPP’s registration, stating that the party’s recognition was secured through deceitful practices.
