Meghalaya: Police Picks Up 5 People For Attacking JN Bawri Statue With Petrol Bomb

Petrol bombs were hurled at the statue of JN Bawri at around 4 am today. Although bottles scattered upon impact, the statue did not sustain much damage

Five people were picked up by the police today for their alleged involvement in the petrol bomb attack on the statue of JN Bawri in front of Bawri Mansion, Dhankheti, Shillong, early this morning.

Confirming the report, Superintendent of Police East Khasi Hills District, Sylvester Nongtnger, said, “Five persons were picked up in this regard, and the investigation is ongoing.”

It is worth mentioning that in a shocking incident, petrol bombs were hurled at the statue of JN Bawri at around 4 a.m. today.

Although bottles scattered upon impact, the statue did not sustain much damage.

An FIR was lodged at the Laitumkhrah police station, and the police immediately began investigating the incident.

According to reports, the miscreants also pelted stones at an ATM booth in the Dhankheti area.
