The case is currently being treated as a case of suspected murder. The real cause of death will be known after the post-mortem, police said

The mysterious death of a forest official has sent shock waves and raised concern among the people of Khowai in Tripura. The incident took place early Friday morning near Pulinpur, adjacent to the Assam-Agartala National Highway

The deceased, identified as Kinkar Debnath, was a forest beat officer stationed in Sadhupara, Champaknagar in West Tripura district.

Despite the initiation of a police investigation, the circumstances surrounding Debnath’s death remain steeped in mystery and speculation.

According to his family, Debnath received a phone call from a known individual around 10 or 10:30 PM on Thursday night. The caller reportedly picked him from his home but later, despite several attempts by his family to reach him they could not get through to him on his phone.

The family members reported that when they finally managed to connect to his phone, an unfamiliar voice answered, and they were unable to speak with Debnath. Their frantic search efforts among friends and acquaintances yielded no results.

Tragically, at dawn on Friday, Debnath’s body was discovered lying by the roadside in Pulinpur.

As the news broke, a police team from Teliamura, forensic experts, and Superintendent of Police Khowai district Ramesh Chandra Yadav swiftly arrived at the scene.

SP Yadav stated that while the case is currently being treated as a case of suspected murder, the real cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem. He also noted that a forensic team is actively working on the investigation.

The family, however, strongly believes that Debnath was murdered and it was pre-planned.
