Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Elections 2024 Results on June 2: Here’s all you need to know about key candidates, parties and party positions

BJP contested all 60 Assembly seats. Congress contested 19 seats only. NPP contested in 20, NCP in 15 seats and the People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) in 11 seats.

ARUNACHAL ASSEMBLY POLL DETAILS

  • Total 8.8 (8,82,816) lakh voters – 4,33,760 are male voters and 4,49,050 female voters.
  • 2,226 polling stations
  • 133 candidates fought for 50 Assembly seats
  • Total candidates 143 for 60-member Arunachal Assembly

BJP won 10 seats unopposed:

  1. CM Pema Khandu from Mukto
  2. Deputy CM Chowna Mein from Chowkham
  3. RatuTechi from Sagalee
  4. JikkeTako from Tali
  5. NyatoDukam from Taliha
  6. MutchuMithi from Roing
  7. HageAppa from Ziro-Hapoli
  8. TechiKaso from Itanagar
  9. DongruSiongju from Bomdila
  10. DasangluPul from Hayuliang
  • BJP contested all 60 Assembly seats. Congress contested 19 seats only. NPP contested in 20, NCP in 15 seats and the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) in 11 seats. Arunachal Democratic Party in 4 seats, the LokJanashakti Party (LJP) is fighting for one seat.
  • There are 13 Independent candidates in the fray.
  • 80 candidates are first-time candidates. 8 women candidates in fray — the highest in any Assembly election so far.

In 2019:

  • BJP contested 60 seats, won 41
  • NPP contested 30 seats, won 5
  • INC contested 46, won 4
  • JDU contested 15, won 7
  • PPA contested 9 seats, won 1
  • 2 Independents won

  • Contesting for another term on BJP ticket
