Arunachal: Operation Dawn continues in Itanagar, 3 more drug peddlers including one from Assam arrested

Under Operation Dawn, the programme against drug menace. Arunachal police have arrested three more drug peddlers from the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR). 

Based on information about the movements of a drug dealer, the Banderdewa Police, under the leadership of Inspector Kipa Hamak, SI Koj Tada, and his team intercepted a suspect on a motorcycle travelling from Assam to Banderdewa on Friday. 

On checking thoroughly, the police team recovered two soap cases containing suspected contraband drugs, and heroin, weighing approximately 22.1 grams from his possession and arrested him. 

The arrested drug dealer has been identified as Debnath Mili (25), a resident of Dahgoria village in Lakhimpur district of Assam. 

In a separate incident, a team of police led by Inspector K Dev, OC Naharlagun, SI N Rama, and their team from Naharlagun Police Station arrested two habitual drug peddlers and recovered 320 empty vials, 3 vials containing suspected contraband drugs, and a soap case from their possession. 

The arrested drug peddlers have been dentified as–Sh. Tabe Nguri (24) and Sh. Manek Liruk (23), both residents of Raga, Kamle district of Arunachal Pradesh. 

Operation Dawn is a multi-pronged approach to fight against the drug menace in the state. 

It may be mentioned here that Chief Minister Pema Khandu has been campaigning against drugs menace in the state for the last two years.
