Arunachal: CM Pema Khandu condoles demise of Fmr President of APPSC and IFCSAP, Nabam Atum

Nabam Atum was born in 1948 in Priapu village in Papum Pare district.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has condoled the demise of former President of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) and Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) Nabam Atum.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for his soul to rest in eternal peace.
Taking to X, CM Khandu worte, “Pained to hear about passing away of Shri Nabam Atum Ji. Shri Atum Ji, as former President of Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh & former chairman of APPSC, contributed richly to the society. He had received ONE India award and played important role in fostering nationalism among the people living along Indo-China border in Arunachal Pradesh through initiatives like Seemant Darshan Yatra. My heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family. May Lord Buddha give peace to the departed soul. Om Mani Padme Hum.”

Nabam Atum died on Thursday at his residence in Doimukh after a brief illness. He was 76.
Nabam Atum was born in 1948 in Priapu village in Papum Pare district.
He was an eminent social activist. From childhood, he dedicated his life to safeguarding and preserving the age-old Donyi-Polo faith of the Nyishi people.
He had also served as the chairman of the Social Welfare and Forest Preservation Association and the Dikrong Multipurpose Co-operative Society.
He was awarded with One India Award in 2012, and the IFCSAP Ratna Award in 2016 for his achievements in the field of social and human services.
