Arunachal’s Asum Tamut wins gold in 7th National Mix Martial Art Championship in Chhattisgarh

Arunachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister Pema Khandu extended his heartfelt congratulations to the players.

In a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh, Asum Tamut of Lileng village in Siang district, won a Gold medal at the 7th National Mix Martial Art Championship, held at Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in Raipur, Chhattisgarh on Sunday.

Tamut defeated Priyanshi Baghel from Chhattisgarh in the final match of MMA Senior Female Straw weight 52.2 kg category.

Arunachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister Pema Khandu extended his heartfelt congratulations to the players. Taking to X, Khandu wrote, “MARVELLOUS! Heartiest congratulations congratulations to Asum Tamut of Arunachal Pradesh on clinching Gold in the 7th MMA National Championship in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Tamut, hailing from Lileng village in Siang district, is a motivation for aspiring athletes.”

“I also commend Yumter Taipodia, Tadar Righi and Kamjo Taku on winning Bronze each in their respective weight categories in the championship. My best wishes for your future endeavours”, Khandu added.

Yumter Taipodia (-77kg), Tadar Righi (-66kg) and Kamjo Taku (-56kg) won a bronze medal each in their respective weight categories in the Championship.

Other participants from Arunachal who won their first round matches are Hakin Taku and Kago Tamang.
