The Manipur Chief Minister also vowed that the sacrifice of the CRPF bravehearts will not be allowed to go in vain
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has condemned the attack on security forces in Bishnupur district, in which 2 CRPF troopers lost their lives and termed it as an act of “cowardice”.
Taking to X, the Manipur Chief Minister made it amply clear that the sacrifice of the bravehearts in the line of duty will not go in vain.
In his post the Manipur CM wrote, “Strongly condemn the assault carried out against the Indian security forces, resulting in the tragic loss of two CRPF personnel in the Naranseina area of Bishnupur district. Such actions demonstrate cowardice against dedicated security personnel who work tirelessly day and night to uphold peace and stability in the state. Their sacrifice will not go in vain.”
Security Advisor to Manipur Chief Minister and former CRPF DGP Kuldiep Singh has also warned in strongest terms that the perpetrators behind the attack will be made to pay a heavy price. Massive combing operations are underway to zero in on the attackers.
Singh said, “This is a very bad and ghastly kind of retaliation done against the forces. This kind of ghastly act, they have done and we will find it out. Investigation will be done with very serious earnest and we will take all actions against them. From today onwards, we have directed all the forces, the IGAR East and South is there, the GOC is here, DG is here, we just had a small meeting here. We are making a plan on day to day working out of things, like combing operations in the whole areas, and during the investigations we will find who has done it and we will not spare them. We will bring them to the court of law, whatever they have done they will have to pay for it as per the law of the land.”
When asked by newspersons as to who is behind the attack, Kuldiep Singh said, “You can very well anticipate and understand, whatever group in that area is active, I do not need to repeat the names, you all know which groups are active in the area.”
Kuldiep Singh also expressed his shock at to why central forces who are regarded as neutral forces are being attacked.
“Forces have come to maintain peace and that is how we are in the middle of both the communities, so that at least whenever there is a problem, seeing the central forces, even both the sides they call these kind of forces-BSF, CRPF, Army, Assam Rifles as neutral forces, they themselves call them neutral forces. If they are neutral forces than why are you attacking the neutral forces? Whoever has done it will have to pay a very heavy price of this and we will take all steps and we will put all agencies and find it out who has done it and will be booked as per the law of the land,” Kuldiep Singh said.
In his response on being asked if intelligence failure was to be blamed for the attack, Kuldiep Singh said it is a broad aspect.
Two CRPF jawans lost their lives while 2 others were seriously injured in an attack by armed men in Bishnupur district late last night, sources have confirmed. As per inputs, the attack took place in the Naransena area and lasted from midnight until 2:15 AM.
The jawans were part of the CRPF, B-128 Battalion deployed at the western side of 2nd IRB Headquarter, Naranseina.
