SKM condemns opposition’s violent tactics: SKM president Prem Singh Tamang Golay stands firm

Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) on Wednesday condemned opposition’s use of violent propaganda.
In a statement, SKM party said Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) President Prem Singh Tamang Golay, passionately denounced the opposition’s use of violent propaganda.
He emphasized the opposition’s desperate attempt to discredit the SKM party through false narratives and violent acts, signaling their acknowledgment of imminent defeat in the upcoming election.
In his speech, SKM President outlined the SKM government’s untiring efforts in serving the people of Sikkim over the past five years and which, he stressed, has won the Bharosa of the Sikkimese people, and cited various initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Sikkimese citizens.
Refuting accusations of violence leveled against the SKM party, he strongly expressed his dismay over the recent derogatory remarks labeling him as a “Gunda” by opposition members, and cited as to how he has helped even the person who never tired chanting slogans against him. He reiterated SKM’s dedication to promoting peaceful and democratic means of political discourse.
Issuing a stern warning to potential troublemakers, he also asserted that any violence would be swiftly dealt with by the law enforcement agencies.
He assured the crowd of his government’s zero tolerance for hooliganism or violence, regardless of the perpetrators’ political affiliations. He stressed that the opposition parties are trying to provoke SKM supporters to create violence in order to lend credence to their fake narrative but he advised them to exercise restraint. He went on to tell the SKM supporters that SKM has already won the match and is waiting to receive the tropy.
The SKM president urged all to maintain the unity and harmony that Sikkim is known for, urging them to reject violence and uphold democratic principles and civility.
