Lok Sabha polls-Arunachal: Nothing can happen by merely changing names, Rajnath’s big message to China

India now has the power to give a fitting reply, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said during an election rally in Arunachal Pradesh's Namsai.

Amid brisk politicking for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in a clear and loud message to China said that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of the nation.

Rajnath Singh’s message comes after China renamed 30 locations in Arunachal Pradesh with Chinese and Tibetan names as part of its repeated efforts to assert claims over the frontier state.

Retorting to what China did, Rajnath Singh said, “The China in its website has renamed 3 places in Arunachal Pradesh and uploaded it, nothing can happen by merely changing names. I want to tell my neighbour that if tomorrow we change the names of a few areas or states in China, than will those places (in China) if there names are changed, become part of India? China should not remain in this misconception. I feel that doing such things will have a bad impact on the relations between India and China. Our former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee used to say that friends change in our lives, but neighbours never change. We believe that India must maintain a good relationship with all it’s neighbours. But if anyone tries to hurt the honour, dignity and respect of India, than I want to convey that India now has the power to give a fitting reply.”

Not only this, Rajnath Singh also launched a sharp attack on the Congress.

The Defence Minister said, “Whatever PM Modi says, he does it, his works, his deeds, whatever he says and do are totally in sync. Look at the manisfestos of Congress, NCP or any other political party, they are just deceiving people. Once they form the government, they forget about their promises made to the people. We spoke about implementing CAA, we did it. Nobody is going to lose citizenship because of CAA, but people are going to get citizenship.

But parties like Congress, NCP are creating confusions in the minds of the people. We should keep ourselves safe from them and their actions.

You have seen that during times of the Congress, foundations were laid prior to elections but they have never dedicated any such projects to the people, because such projects always remained incomplete. During the Congress rule there was no infrastructure development at all.”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said this while addressing a public rally at Namsai to drum up support for Arunachal East candidate Tapir Gao.
