‘Crew’ takes off to a grand opening, becomes 3rd biggest opener of 2024 with Rs 20 cr collections worldwide

The film is the third biggest opener of the year in Hindi cinema, following Fighter and Shaitaan.

On its first day at the box office on March 29, the Bollywood film ‘Crew’ starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon opens to a strong response. Crew made Rs 8.75 crore on the first day. According to the filmmakers, the film grossed Rs 20.07 crore globally. On Friday, the movie achieved an overall Hindi occupancy  of 26.34 percent. The film is the third biggest opener of the year in Hindi cinema, following Fighter and Shaitaan.

Crew, a heist comedy film directed by Rajesh A Krishnan, revolves around  three dedicated  friends who work as cabin crew members for Kohinoor Airlines. Their peaceful lives take chaotic turns  when they become engaged in a complex situation  orchestrated by someone with ulterior motives.

To be mentioned that Crew is a notable film in mainstream Hindi cinema as the film does not have any male stars in its lead cast. Kapil Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh are playing supporting roles in the film. The film has been roduced under the banners of Balaji Telefilms and Anil Kapoor Film & Communications Network.

Crew has reportedly been released in 2000 cinemas. It premiered in over 75 countries, with over 1100 locations. The film’s budget is estimated to be around Rs 60 crore, including production and promotional expenses.
