Arunachal Assembly polls 2024: Two BJP candidates file nomination papers in Bomdila

Phurpa Tsering is a three time MLA from the Dirang constituency while Tseten Chombay is contesting for the first time

Two BJP candidates – Phurpa Tsering for the Dirang constituency and Tseten Chombay for the Kalaktang constituency, filed their nomination papers today in Bomdila for the forthcoming Arunachal Pradesh assembly elections.

Phurpa Tsering is a three time MLA from the Dirang constituency. He has won the seat in 2009, 2014 and 2019. He is contesting for a fourth term.

In 2009, Tsering won the seat with a total of 6618 votes. He contested the elections as a candidate of People’s Party Of Arunachal. In 2014 and 2019 he won the seat uncontested on a BJP ticket.

Speaking to media Phurpa Tsering said,”I don’t have any promises for my people saying I have been working for the past three conservative terms since 2009, being people’s representative, I have always kept people’s service as my priority.”

Tseten Chombay is contesting the elections for the first time. According to reports, he is a relative of Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

While addressing the media, Chombay appealed to the people to cast their vote and support BJP in the Assembly as well as the Lok Sabha elections as more and more people are joining the party.
