Pradyot lashes out at CPIM for criticising Tiprasa accord, says CPIM did not give what people wanted

Debbarma said CPIM was in power for 25 years, they could have given what the people had wanted, but they didn’t.

Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Deb Barma on Sunday lashed out at the CPIM for criticizing the Tiprasa Accord. Debbarma said, “CPIM was in power for 25 years, they could have given what the people had wanted, but they didn’t.”

He further said, “Their job is to attack and one time they attacked Shyama Charan Tripura, Drau Kumar Reang and Nagendra Jamatia saying that all these leaders of TUJS has taken money from Indira Gandhi and sold the tribals but then ADC happened. Then when Bijoy Hrawnkhal signed the TNV Accord, the same CPIM complained that he sold the tribal cause to Rajiv Gandhi but then three (ST) seats came. So today when I signed an accord they will complain but the Tiprasa people know that Pradyot Bikram Manikya and TIPRA Motha is sincere and we are here to give people a better future, a better life.”

He added, “If they want to play politics with it, it is too bad because the CPIM party is wiped out of Tripura like they have wiped out of Bengal and so they should do more introspection rather then just complain.”

He said, “The tribals who were the core bank of CPIM have left them because Manik Sarkar and his government instead of just attacking Maharajas should have done something for the tribal people.”

Pradyot met Tripura CM Manik Saha on Sunday to discuss the fund crunch that the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous Council (TTAADC) has been facing hampering development work and welfare of the tribal people of Tripura.
