Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP received another boost in Tripura after 287 members from the opposition CPI (M) and Congress joined the saffron party on Sunday.
The joining took place yesterday evening at the BJP headquarters in Agartala, in the presence of key figures including state BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee and state minister Ratanlal Nath.
Exuding confidence while speaking to reporters, Bhattacharjee said that the BJP is going to win the polls easily. He attributed the surge of support for the BJP across the nation to the establishment of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
“Modi Ji had fulfilled the dreams of all Indians on January 22. The opposition’s attempt to form a bloc has also been finished. People don’t see anyone capable of opposing Modi and that is why all over the country Karyakartas are eager to join the BJP,” Bhattacharjee said.
He firmly asserted that both parliamentary constituencies in Tripura are poised to vote overwhelmingly in favor of Prime Minister Modi.
It may be noted that the state assembly elections in Tripura was held on February 16, 2023 where the BJP swept away the opposition and won by a simple majority.
